Take Control of the Business Information You Provide

Once ownership is approved, a claimed profile lets you manage your own business information instead of relying on publicly sourced data. Claiming is free.

What claiming does not do: it doesn’t let you edit, remove, or rewrite customer reviews or ratings — you can respond to them. And verifying ownership is not the same as verifying a professional licence.

How We Verify Ownership

Profiles are reviewed before anyone gets editing access, so a business can’t be altered by someone who doesn’t represent it. Any of these helps us confirm your connection:

What Happens Next

1. We review the claim. We check the business and the ownership information you gave us.
2. We verify ownership. If it’s enough, we approve. If not, we’ll contact you for more.
3. You get profile access. After approval you can manage the editable information on the profile.
4. You complete the profile. Services, imagery, booking links, hours — the things clients use to choose.

Questions About Claiming

Does it cost anything to claim my business?

No. Claiming and managing a basic profile is free under the current program.

How do I know a listing is my business?

Check the name, address, and phone on the profile. Listings are built from publicly available business information, so details can be out of date — that’s part of what claiming lets you fix.

What if my business information is wrong?

Claim the profile and correct it. If something is urgent or the listing shouldn’t exist, say so in the notes on the form.

How does Shops+ verify ownership?

A person reviews the information you provide — a business-domain email, the phone number on file, your website or booking profile, or other evidence you can share. We may come back with questions.

How long does review take?

It varies. Every claim is reviewed by a person, so there’s no automatic turnaround. We’ll email you if we need more information.

Can I edit reviews after I claim my profile?

No. Reviews and ratings stay independent of the business. Claiming lets you respond to them publicly — it doesn’t change what a reviewer wrote.

Does claiming verify my professional licence?

No. Claiming confirms that you represent the business. It is not a licence check and doesn’t display as one.

What if someone else already claimed my business?

Submit a claim anyway and explain the situation in the notes. We’ll review it and won’t transfer a profile without checking. We won’t share the other party’s details with you.

What if my business isn’t in Shops+ at all?

Use Add My Business to submit it for review, then claim it once the profile exists.
