Independent beauty and wellness professionals — hair stylists, barbers, estheticians, nail technicians, lash and brow artists, massage therapists, med-aesthetics and injectable providers, and related service professionals. The deciding factor is your services and equipment, not your title: compare the six Shop types to see which one fits the way you work.

You should be prepared to operate as an independent business, which means holding the professional licenses, insurance, and business registration that apply to your services. The exact requirements for a Shops+ Shop are confirmed later in the process rather than published here, so nothing is assumed about your situation up front. See what you’ll need to get started.

Construction begins in January 2027 and the grand opening is planned for late 2027, at Pacific Plaza in Edmonds, WA. Private tours are expected in 2027, once the build is far enough along to walk through safely. See the Edmonds location.

The agreement type and term lengths aren’t published yet, so we’d rather not describe them than describe them wrongly. Your Shop arrives equipped with the core fixtures for its type — chair, mirror, cabinetry, lighting, and a wash station where the Shop calls for one — inside a private, lockable space with 24/7 secure building access, utilities and Wi-Fi, free on-site parking, and shared reception and lounge areas. There’s no buildout for you to fund — Shops+ builds out and equips the Shops, so you aren’t paying for construction, permits, or fit-out. We don’t publish a fee schedule while rates are still unpublished; any charges that do apply are set out alongside your pricing and confirmed in writing before you commit. Smart Shops+ is one of the five areas of Shops+ member support, and it covers the physical Shop environment — climate, air quality, lighting, and in-Shop controls planned for the Shops+ build. Yes. Your Shop comes equipped, but if you’d rather work with your own furniture, you can bring it in — along with your branding, your décor, and how you arrange the room. Layouts themselves come in set configurations that vary by Shop type, several of them plumbing-ready or built around a wash station. Marketing+ covers visibility and reputation: a professional profile in the Shops+ directory showing your services and how to book, guidance on how your business appears in local search, resources for presenting reviews and credentials, and opportunities to be featured through Shops+ channels as they become available. Business+ gives you educational resources and referrals to qualified professionals for the business side — pricing and profitability, tax and accounting questions, licensing and compliance, and financial planning. Yes — Community+ exists so independence doesn’t become isolation. It covers networking with other independent professionals, educational sessions, a referral network of complementary providers, and shared member resources, alongside the building’s shared reception and lounge areas. Shops+ Edmonds is planned with six Shop types from roughly 90 to 300 square feet, so moving into a larger Shop is possible as spaces become available.
